At long last I've brought out the book I wrote last year. This book is special to me as it took a whole year to write. Each month, I wrote a short, hot story and gave a link to the story to my newsletter subscribers. I left the stories for some time, then edited them and sent to beta readers. After several rounds of edits and rewriting the last story, I finally published my calendar book - A Year of Lovin'

Interview with
Siobhan Shannon
Which of your book’s characters is most like you and why?
Olivia and I share a great deal. Like Liv, I
never seem to understand the rules until I break one. Like her, I love first
and ask questions later, and most of all like her, I’m willing to do whatever
it takes to make happiness for myself and my loved ones.
What was your biggest challenge in writing your current
release?
The editing process is hard. Having someone
meddle with my writing gives me the heebee-geebies. I have to take a deep
breath and pretend it isn’t my writing that I’m revising. When it gets really
bad, I go to yoga.
When did you know you were destined to be a writer?
About the fifth grade. My mom saved a story
for me from back then in my little-girl handwriting with magazine pictures for
illustrations. I think the teacher even did some editing for me in red. I’ve
been writing ever since, everything from essays and blog posts to poems, novels
and short stories. In college, professors would assign papers and everyone else
would be like, “Ah, man, another paper,”
and I’d be like, “Yay! Another paper.” I started submitting my writing to
publishers when I was 18. Eventually, I began to find the right places for my
writing. I love telling stories and I
always have. One of my friends called me a reconteuse.
I had to go look it up, but she’s right, that’s exactly what I am.
Speed Round (just to get to know you better):
Coffee, tea or other:
Coffee
in the morning, bubbly water in the afternoon, and tea when I’m feeling low.
Music preference:
Irish
traditional and Jazz. There’s a surprising crossover between the two.
Favorite movie:
Treasure of the Sierra Madre, with
Humphrey Bogart. It’s a lesson in human nature.
Dog, cat, or other: I love my
Lab. Not oddly at all, she loves me.
Favorite author:
Graham
Greene, particularly The Power and the
Glory. Patrick Rothfuss is great,
and I’ve recently discovered Neil Gaiman.
Favorite actor:
David Tenant
Favorite television show:
MASH. This little gem got me through the
darkest hours of my life.
Excerpt:
I didn’t set out to deliberately ruin my life. I don’t guess
anyone does, and then when the walls come crashing down, it’s just so . . .
surprising. One day you wake up and nothing looks the same anymore and the
next, people are asking you why you’re destroying their lives. I don’t know. I
woke up on one of those desperately close mornings in July when the air feels
like a blanket and nothing was the same any more. I didn’t even like my coffee
the same way anymore. It might have been meeting Daisy Bledsoe. Or it could
have been a virus, God only knows. All I can tell you is that on that morning,
everything changed.
She wasn’t the prettiest girl I ever saw. She was tall and
weathered and snaggle-toothed, but when she smiled her face lit up and you
couldn’t resist smiling too. She certainly wasn’t the smartest girl I ever met,
either. There were times I wanted to pull my hair out over the things she did.
But on that July morning, she mesmerized me, and before I knew it I was making
decisions that snowballed into a freight train that could have ruined my life.
Strange but true, I think I’d do it all over again.
I must have been about twenty when Pa sent me to Tom
Harmon’s place to see if he had a fuel pump for our old tractor. I had never
been out to Harmon’s before and missed my turn. I came down a road that just
kept getting narrower until I had no choice but to go forward. I found myself
on a grass track that petered out among dead machines and rusting farm
implements in front of her house. I finally found a place where I could turn
around, but that was when I met Daisy.
It was hot and I had the windows down. I came round a bend
and a big black dog decided I didn’t belong there. He jumped up at the window
of Pa’s truck raising hell. All I could do is hit the brakes and lean away.
“Max!” I heard a voice like a sack of gravel shout, “Come
heah.” Max shut up and left the side of my truck, making me happy. One look at
her, and I knew I was lost.
“Can I help you?”
“I believe you already have.”
Your book looks amazing, Siobhan. I did look up reconteuse. 😊

Private Wolf by T.L. Reeve
Today, I want to welcome T.L. Reeve to my blog. She's talking about her Black Hills Wolves book called Private Wolf.
Shawn Blu, tracker and private investigator, has come home. As a pack tracker, he’s ready to defend Los Lobos and use his contacts to find pack members and bring them back into the fold. So, when Miss Fern, his aunt, asks him to find Brienne Talbert, he’s happy to help out. What he isn’t expecting is to find his mate.
Brienne left home at sixteen, knowing she’d return to the Black Hills and Los Lobos one day. As it stands, in six months she’ll graduate with her master’s degree and there’s no way anyone will stop her now. However, when the hunky slab of wolf Shawn Blu shows up with a tempting offer—a week with her pack, no strings attached—she’s willing to reconsider her harsh stance about not going home.
When one weekend turns into a mating she hadn’t planned on, will she be able to leave it all behind and return to school, or will the call of her pack be too much to turn her back on?
Excerpt:
Shawn Blu walked into Los Lobos Café and spotted his aunt at a table near the far wall. In front of her sat a paperback book and a mug, along with a pastry. Behind the counter, Ero took the order from a new female. Her long dark hair was pulled into a messy bun, and her gray eyes glittered with—arousal? If the other wolf noticed, he appeared indifferent to it. Oh well. Bypassing his normal routine, of ordering coffee and Danish, he marched over and sat at the table where his aunt waited. Fern glanced up at him. Her warm, affectionate smile greeted him.
“Good morning, Auntie.” He leaned in and kissed her cheek. “That twinkle in your eye says you’re up to no good.”
Fern laughed and patted his hand. “I have a job for you.”
A job. Why hadn’t she mentioned it last night when he came over for dinner?
Why did they have to meet in the café? “Okay. What is it?”
“Well, technically, it is two jobs….”
“Okay.”
Ero approached with a cup in one hand and a sweet treat in the other. “You didn’t order. I see why now.” He grinned then winked at Fern.
“I didn’t want to interrupt your time with Cynthia,” Shawn teased. “She’s interested in you.”
“Don’t I know it.” Ero frowned. “But there’s…the spark’s not there.” He glanced at his brother, Luc, who sat in his usual spot.
“Say no more, I understand.” He did, too. They were waiting for their perfect mate. Might be a while, but Shawn had a feeling it would happen. “Thanks for the coffee.”
“You’re welcome.”
Taking a sip of the piping-hot brew, he waited for Ero to leave before returning to the conversation with his aunt. The way Fern watched him—assessing him—left him uneasy. “Should I be afraid of what you’re going to ask of me?”
“Never,” she assured him. “In fact, you’ll win tons of brownie points with Miss Claire if you do this for me.”

The Hotter the Love by Lea Bronsen
Today I want to welcome Lea Bronsen talking about her third book in the Model Mine series:
The Hotter the Love
Erotic Romance
By Lea Bronsen
Published by Evernight Publishing
After sexy cover
model Yushka proposed, life is more turbulent than ever for erotic romance
author Andrea. He is expecting a baby with his ex-girlfriend, who says she
doesn’t want to keep it. How will Andrea's sons take upcoming life changes? To
make things more complicated, her ex goes to great lengths to coax her back,
and one of her sons' girlfriend is a tad too interested in Andrea's young and
very handsome fiancé...
On the writing front, Andrea anxiously awaits news on her latest manuscript submission, and she has to decide whether to accept her publisher's offer to model in a sexy photo shoot—the same kind she and Yushka did in Cannes—in the hopes of making a new "Cover Photo of the Year". Considering the erotic poses the previous photographer demanded, can Andrea model with another guy other than Yushka?

Excerpt
We enter a hall so big the tiniest sound echoes.
It’s quite humbling. I shrink in my clothes and barely dare to breathe. Dark
wood furniture towers over us, with a mix of contradictory smells—orchid-scented sanitizer and old dust—filling
the space.
Shoes clamping on a hardwood floor, we follow the
tall, silver-haired man into a living room with exquisite furniture,
gold-framed mirrors, and classic paintings on the walls. Heavy velvet curtains
adorn the windows, and an impressive floor-to-ceiling library on one side has
to contain literary curiosities from every part of the world. Marveling, I
study each magnificent object.
The
man stops and glares across the room, his facial expression clearly one of
annoyance. What an oppressive atmosphere.
Yushka
stands beside him and stares in the same direction.
I
follow their gaze. A young and strikingly beautiful woman is half-seated on a
green velvet couch with her legs folded underneath her. Dark doe eyes and pink
lips stand out in a pale, oval face. A waterfall of rich, glowing
auburn-colored hair contrasts with her white dress. She looks cast in a scene
from the Russian classic Doctor Zhivago. Beneath full breasts, a pregnant belly
protrudes, far too round and big for her frail frame. Jekaterina?
My
chest tightens. The more I look at her, the more her beauty takes my breath
away. She’s the woman Yushka was in love with last year. The one he slept with
and impregnated.
Her
gaze is riveted on him, the recognition and warmth fiery.
I
shoot him a glance. His features are tight, as if he’s trying to hide his
reaction, but he doesn’t take his gaze off her. This is exactly what I feared.
They’ve had feelings for each other. Maybe meeting now will revive them. He has
fallen for her once, so why would he not fall for her again?
I
feel bad, nauseous, want to get out of here. But she’s carrying the baby girl
I’m going to call mine very soon. I need to overcome my unease. Hopefully, once
the formalities are done, this is the only time we’ll have to meet.
She
tells him a few words in Russian, her voice the cooing of a turtledove.
Yushka
replies calmly, but his throat sounds choked. He grabs my hand, palm sweaty,
and leads me to a sofa opposite hers. His discomfort is more than clear in his
features. He tears his gaze from her and searches me, his expression vibrating
with an intensity I seldom see. It hits me—he’s afraid.
I
squeeze his hand. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes,”
he replies instantly, but his tension is palpable.
My
chest tightens to a painful level. What is he so nervous about? From his
interaction with Jekaterina, this has nothing to do with the baby. It’s about
them, their relationship, and me. Is he afraid he’ll have to choose between us?
Goodness,
I’m delirious. I sit very still, take small, shallow breaths, and pray for
everything to be all right. Then bolt out of this house after the arrangements
are resolved.
Jekaterina
addresses me, her dark pupils glimmering. “You’re very beautiful. Are you a
model, too?”
I’m
as taken aback by her speaking a fluent English as I am by her compliment, and
need a few seconds to shake myself. “Um, no, I’m not.”
She
raises a brow. “That’s funny. I would’ve sworn you were a model. So how did you
two meet?”
“At
an author conference.”
Yushka
clears his throat. “Andrea writes books, and I’m featured on the cover of her
last one.”
“Oh,
how exciting.” Her lips curve upward. I can’t decide whether it’s a genuine
smile or she’s faking it.
“Yes,”
he continues. “That’s why we … uh … were bound to meet. They had organized a
Meet-and-Greet for authors and cover models of their books.” Why does he sound
like he’s trying to make an excuse?
She
flutters her long lashes at me. “What kind of books do you write?”
Before
I can answer, her father walks over to a cabinet and picks up a bunch of
papers. “All right, enough chit-chat.” His voice booms like thunder.

Flash Sale of Her Real-life Hero
Sometimes in real life, romance sucks.
Being a romance writer, you'd expect me to have everything together in the romance department. Well, it's been rather dismal lately. In fact so bad that the love of my life is leaving me for someone he's never met but only chatted to online. Yeah, it probably goes deeper than that but it doesn't take away the sucker punch to the gut.
He was my hero. Now, he's my heart breaker. It's so sad. (And no, I'm not always brave. Some days I've been a shivering mess.)
But I still believe in love and I know there's someone out there who will make me a happy chickie one day.
We've all suffered pain in our lives, some people more than others. Joanie, the heroine in my book, suffered immense pain when her parents passed away and left her orphaned and now responsible for looking after her younger siblings. She's a true heroine and has given her life sacrificially for others. Now, it's her time to think of "me" and pamper herself and follow her dreams. The last thing she wants is a relationship, especially a marriage. So when the magic from the antique she bought gives her an instant husband, she's most upset. Even if Theo is sexy and really quite nice.
How does she get rid of him?
Read all about it because my book is on sale until Monday for only $0.99.
And I have a bit of a secret to share. My book is coming out on audio. I can't wait. This heartsore yet tough chickie has something to look forward to.

Spotlight on Tara Quan's Submissive on the Run
Today, I want to welcome Tara to my blog again with her new erotic romance, Submissive on The Run. She's also offering a giveaway!
The Story Behind the Book
Sometimes,
supporting characters take on a life of their own. After selflessly aiding in
the affairs of others, they sulk in the back of an author’s brain, broadcasting
their past, present, and future until surrender is nigh. Thus was the case with
Kim Tran, the intrepid dungeon monitor from Submissive on Display.
Unbeknownst to the heroine of the first book, Kim has some unfinished business
with the hero’s best friend (small world, I know). He insisted I give them a
chance to sort things out, and, being a Dom, he has a knack for getting his
way.
Submissive on the Run drags
me back to Las Vegas’s renowned Carnivore Club, a multi-author world first
penned by Kate Richards for Decadent Publishing’s 1Night Stand Series. This
interracial BDSM romance stars a feisty sub with a strong right hook, who must
contend with a spoilt rich boy determined to win her back. An ill-mannered cat
and Madam Eve’s matchmaking service unite them for a night of exhibitionistic
fun, which ends in a capture game and a scorching happily ever after.
To celebrate my
return to BDSM romance this year, I’m giving away a $15 gift card. To enter,
leave a comment here and drop your details in the Rafflecopter widget at the
bottom of this post. [or at my website: http://www.taraquan.com/submissiveontherun

Submissive on the Run by Tara Quan
Obscene wealth
and a toxic family taught Joss Bradlee to care about no one. He moved through
life in a caustic shell, fending off gold-diggers with his sharp tongue and
abrasive personality. But a stubborn submissive saw past his nonchalant act,
and he fell hard and fast for a girl he didn’t deserve. When she accidentally
stumbled into the line of fire, he moved heaven and earth to protect her, even
if it meant letting her go. Ten months later, he ensures her safety and tracks
her down, finally ready to claim the one person that matters. The only
problem—she wants nothing to do with him.
On the run for
close to a year, Kim Tran receives a surprise call from the man who’d put her
life in danger. His family hired assassins to kill her, but he’s somehow
convinced they still had a chance. With their entire relationship built on a
lie, she resists the instinct to sprint straight into his arms. Faced with a
social divide no sane person would bridge, she cuts her losses and breaks her
own heart. But the Dominant she loves has other plans, and he’s spent his
entire life getting his way. Too late to run and with nowhere to hide, she
faces an adversary well versed in all her weaknesses.
At the
Carnivore Club, two exhibitionists meet for a battle of wills, lured by a
one-night stand service, misplaced cat, and several helping hands. With the aid
of handcuffs, disciplinary measures, and a capture game, a reluctant sub
rediscovers the pleasures of bondage, the thrill of display, and the ecstasy of
surrender.
Genre: BDSM Romance, Erotic Romance, Interracial/Multicultural
Excerpt:
Thrilled and
terrified, she swallowed the lump in her throat. “We could get over each other
if we tried.”
Imprisoning her
with his arms, he trailed his nose down the line of her neck. “How’s that
working out for you? On my end, every hot chick I see has your face. One look
at your reflection, and bam—instant hard on. Our breather flopped.” He dipped
his head lower, scattering kisses along her collarbones. “I’m glad it’s done.”
“No.” Her
vision misted with pulses of crimson. She tried to summon an iota of
reluctance. Her libido refused to play ball. “We’re not doing this again.”
He bit the
sensitive spot between her shoulder and neck. “You don’t have a choice. I’m
calling the shots.”
His confidence
curled her toes. “What we had was less than a fling.” She poured what little
willpower she had into the false words.
He squeezed her
breast, the proprietary caress arching her back. “You’re going to pay for that
lie with a lot more than a hard spanking.”
Arousal flared,
potent and irresistible. “You have no right. I’m not your sub.” When he pinched
her nipples, flashes of heat threatened to melt away thought. “But there’s a
whole club full of women willing to play your games.”
“I’ve already chosen
mine.” She writhed when his grip tightened. In her moment of distraction, he
slid his hand under her skirt. With her underwear gone, he could shove his
fingers inside her without preamble.
“Joss….” It
hurt. In the best way.
He looped his
other arm around her. Caught in a vise, she had little recourse beyond a
whimpered protest. “I don’t want this.” But she did. Enough to erase the safe
word from her vocabulary.
“Dishonesty
seems to be a chronic problem.” He pressed down on her clit with his thumb and
screwed his digits deeper into her. Her clenching inner muscles supported his
observation. So did her uncontrollable spasms as his unyielding penetration
vaulted her toward a crest.
She dug her
nails into his forearms, a useless defense that only reinforced her
helplessness. “Stop it.”
He ignored her
resistance, playing her like an instrument until sweat once more coated her
skin. “Why? You’re more honest right after you come.”

Surprising Myself Anthology with Author Lea Bronsen
What is your secret
fantasy?
That one thing you dream of doing but have never had the chance to
fulfill in real life…
Thirteen writers present sexy, steamy stories of women
getting the chance to live out their personal fantasies. What’s yours? Whether
it’s several lovers at the same time for a pulse-pounding ménage scene or the
allure of getting caught in public, these stories will set your mind ablaze.
From voyeurism in a sex club to swinging, cuckolding to cosplay, SURPRISING
MYSELF brings you stories from thirteen hot new writers to watch out for and
just might make you think about fulfilling your own wildest fantasy.
ABOUT LEA BRONSEN'S STORY "COME ABOARD"
Lorna, a
young American reporter, travels to a port town in France to cover a yacht
race. She hopes she’ll be able to experience her wildest fantasy on the beach –
sex in public. Due to getting on the wrong train, she has an argument with the
controller, who she finds both immensely sexy and annoyingly arrogant.
When he
brings her to the engine, pretending to restrain her but instead getting
intimate with her, she sees the opportunity to live out her fantasy…
TRAILER
EXCERPT
If lucky,
I might even meet a handsome Frenchman with whom to spend Saturday night. I’m
single, have been for the past few months, and at twenty-three, the lack of sex
for such a long time is driving me half-nuts. An interlude with a local hotness
on one of the warm beaches of Sables sounds like an irresistible idea. Yes, a
beach, or any other public place. The eBook I’m reading features a heroine
getting the fuck of her life in an open park at night against a tree in full
view of passersby. I want that kind of excitement, too. The three boyfriends
I’ve had in the past few years were good in bed but not daring enough. I yearn
for someone to do something crazy and a little forbidden with me, in public
visibility. Surely, that hint of dangerousness, the possibility of being caught
by the authorities, should increase the sexual experience—and our
orgasms—tenfold.
For now,
I’ll have to do with checking out the cute Maghrebian controller while waiting
for him to examine my ticket. Row after row, he walks the narrow aisle toward me,
distributing polite smiles to the passengers and answering questions. Tall and
broad-shouldered, he has the looks and build of a soccer player. A black tribal
tattoo appears below the short sleeve of his purple shirt and travels down his
sun-kissed, muscular forearm. Beneath his gray cap, he sports a short buzz cut,
and two or three days’ worth of black beard stubble covers his cheeks and chin,
just enough to make him…oh, God, immensely sexy. With full lips, a strong nose,
and black olive-shaped eyes, he’s a gem of North Africa, an exotic, roughly
polished jewel. He would definitely fit in my fuck-on-the-beach fantasy.
