Character Interview with Maya from Operation Owl (Beyond Fairytales)

Several of the Beyond Fairytales books have covers already. Tara Quan's book, Operation Owl, has a cover and she's ready to share about her multicultural, contemporary romantic comedy. I think the book looks marvelous!

Blurb:

Five years ago, Maya Jain kissed her best friend only to have him run out of her dorm room and leave the state. When he shows up in Washington, D.C., a wanted fugitive sought after by every branch of the US government, she can’t bring herself to ignore his plight. As their physical relationship picks up where it left off, she decides it’s time to make him see her as more than the bespectacled, bookish girl he once called “Owl.”

After being accused of espionage and treason, Zack Strong needs a forensic accountant to help clear his name. Not knowing who he can trust, this white-hat hacker has no choice but to ask his former best friend and math tutor for help. Together they unravel a cyber conspiracy at the Barn, an NSA facility tasked to intercept electronic communications. But as they traverse the nation’s capital to avoid capture, Maya insists on letting their simmering sexual tension take its natural course. Even though he’s never been able to shake the memory of their one kiss, he refuses to let her give up her life for a man with no future.

Excerpt:

“Aren’t you going to ask me some questions first?”
Maya frowned. “Like what?”
“Whether or not I’m guilty of espionage, for one.”
Though hampered by his hands, she managed a shrug. “It doesn’t matter. We’re friends, aren’t we?”
“It depends on your definition.” It took a moment before Zack realized he’d blurted the words out loud. Judging from the way her dark brows drew together, they’d zeroed in on the exact same memory.
Friends didn’t kiss. Given, they’d shared just the one, and he’d hightailed it out of her life almost immediately after, but the unfortunate lip-lock would always complicate the question of where they stood. And if someone asked him right then to slot their relationship into a neat little box, “friends” wouldn’t be it. Why? For one, he hadn’t thought about anything but kissing her for the past three minutes. Considering every branch of the all-powerful but dumb-as-fuck US government had painted a bright-red bulls-eye on his ass, his inconvenient reaction was a testament to their complicated status.
His brain should be devoted to the task of clearing his name, not figuring out how to shift his weight so his zipper wouldn’t press uncomfortably on a growing part of his body. He shouldn’t be fascinated by the hint of pink tinting Maya’s whisky-colored skin, or the scent of cinnamon and orange floating off her hair. The last thing he should notice were her long, curly lashes—the sooty fringes framing her almost black eyes such that they appeared huge on her oval face.

Character Interview:
Tara has organised her own interview with her character. Here it is:
Tara Quan’s Operation Owl Tour of the Capital – Character Interview with Maya Jain
Thank you so much for hosting me today. I’m trying something new, which is to chat up my book prior to getting a firm release date. Because of my impending move to Rome, I may soon experience a prolonged Internet blackout and have prescheduled my stops. To the best of my knowledge, my latest multicultural romance from Decadent Publishing comes out some time in July 2014 (so, depending on when you stumble upon this blog, it might be available now). For updates as well as a chance to win a $25 gift card, drop by my website: TaraQuan.com/Owl

In honor of the place I consider home (what the government terms the National Capital Area), I’m dedicating the posts on this tour to Washington, D.C. and its surrounding suburbs. The romantic comedy I’m very blatantly promoting is set entirely in the US capital. A Beyond Fairytales adaptation of The Owl by Brothers Grimm, Operation Owl features a geeky hacker hero and his bookish best friend. They team up to expose a cyber conspiracy at the heart of the US government and end up indulging in some other equally exciting activities.

At this stop, my lovely hostess asks my heroine, Maya Jain, to tell you a bit more about the city. (This interview takes place prior to the start of the book.)

Waypoint: An Interview with Capital area resident, Maya Jain

Hi Maya, and thank you for giving us a few tips about visiting Washington, D.C. How did you come to live in the US capital? Were you born here?

I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, a suburb of D.C. known for its excellent school system. My parents moved there from Chandigarh, India, before I was born. They liked the neighborhood because it’s very ethnically diverse, and, with three kids, it paid to make education a priority. After going to MIT for university, I moved to Arlington, Virginia, which is two metro stations outside the capital (i.e. a 7 minute commute). It’s very convenient since I work at the Treasury Department.

So this is an EXTREMELY important question for most visitors. Where can we get good cup of coffee or tea around here?

Hmm… It depends on whether you think Starbucks makes good coffee or not (I’m partial to their Frappuccino). Around where I live, I’d recommend both Northside Social and Java Shack, both of which make excellent coffee at a reasonable price. If you feel like venturing into Old Town, Alexandria (another D.C. suburb), ESP makes excellent flat whites.

As for tea, I’m still looking. No one makes chai like my mom does, so I end up just paying her a visit when I get a craving.

If you had a visitor over for one day in D.C., and they’d already seen all the monuments and museums on a previous trip, where would you take them?

If they happen to be here on a Sunday, I’d drag them over to Eastern Market, where a bunch of artisans set up stalls selling anything from embellished belts to fruits and vegetables. If they like antiquing, I’d also make a stop at the Georgetown flea market. For someone who’s here on a different day of the week, I’d take them shopping in Old Town Alexandria or Georgetown.

If you could spend a responsibility-free all-expenses paid night in D.C., where would you go?

To be honest, I’d rather stay at home and play video games, but since it’s free—I’d catch an opera at the Kennedy Center (the tickets are usually way out of my budget), followed by dinner at a nice restaurant on U Street.

You seem a little distracted. Is something bugging you?

Oh, nothing much. I just heard from an old college friend I haven’t seen in a really long time. I’m supposed to meet him a little later today.

Oh well, in that case, I should probably let you run off. You two have fun!

Author Interview with Marie Dry

I'm thrilled to introduce a fellow ROSA writer today. ROSA stands for Romance Writers of South Africa. Marie Dry writes paranormal romance and her debut novel has just been released and has soared up in ratings!!

Blurb for Alien Mine:

In a bleak future where government systems are breaking down and lawless bands of men terrorize the country, botanist Natalie Hanson fears for her life and hides in a cave in the Rocky Mountains. When she is captured by human raiders, a fierce alien appears and slays her attackers. Natalie is now held captive in her own cave by the sexy and striking alien commander, Zacar, who informs her that she will be his breeder. Natalie soon realizes that these aliens worship strength. So what will happen when Zacar finds out she has severe asthma?

Author Interview:

Share two things that inspired your book.

Seeing the predator movie and the thought of cultural differences. How two people coming from vastly different worlds would adapt to each other.

What was your favourite scene to write?

I enjoyed all the scenes but the scene where she threatens him with Darth Vader had me laughing out loud. Oh and of course the getting wounded every Tuesday morning at the same time. I thought that was hilarious too.

Where is your book set and did you need to conduct research for your setting? If so, how?

It is set in a cave in the Rocky Mountain. I read a lot and watched documentaries and of course the Internet is always a good source.

Is this book part of a series? If so, describe the series and what part your book plays in it.

Yes, I have written the second book and am editing it. It is Zurian’s story.

Is there a part of yourself in the book? You are not obligated to share but you may.

I don’t think there is a part of me but subconsciously something of me had to come through. I cannot run around a mountain like Natalie, and if an alien appeared before me he wouldn’t have to chase me because I’d faint on the spot, and then he’d kill me to rid himself of my irritating blubbering.

What genre / genres do you write?

I write mostly paranormal although I have an historical that I wrote years ago that needs some heavy editing and also some contemporaries that also need a lot of editing before they see the light of day.

Where would you like to be in your writing in two years’ time?

I would love to be able to write faster. At the moment I’m a very slow writer.

Tell us three quirky or interesting things about yourself.

I believe ants are going to rule the world eventually. Seriously those little creepies are deep underground planning our demise.
I love chocolates and am addicted to Coca Cola.
I’ve lived in Zambia and Morocco and Spain and spent some time in Brazil, Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Italy and Portugal. I love to travel and there are many more countries on my list that I would like to see. I’d love to see the US and attend the RWA conference one of these days.

What rituals do you use to help you focus or get the words down on the page e.g. music or a snack?

I tend to write in front of the tv. I would put on a series and then concentrate and block it out and then every now and then focus on the series and then go back to writing. I can basically write anywhere anytime and don’t really need any rituals.

Mention something unique about your books and your writing style.

I don’t know if anything is unique but I try to tell the story in as plain a language as I can manage.

How has your family responded to your writing?

They are very supportive and they all came to celebrate with me on my release day.

If your heroine had to come alive, what activity would you enjoy doing with her?

I’d love to talk to her about her trees. My father was a horticulturist so I can relate to her need to replant the trees.

If your hero had to come alive, what activity would you enjoy doing with him?

Honestly, I’d just hide rather than spend time with him. I don’t think he likes any other humans beside Natalie.

What was your darkest hour as a writer?

I love writing so very few dark hours. Whenever I get a rejection I’m down for a day or two but then I just get determined to work harder.

What has been your greatest triumph so far as a writer?

Getting published. Learning my craft. And getting to meet authors whose books I have read for years.

Thank you for hosting me, I enjoyed chatting with you.

Marie, it was only a pleasure. I love your easy-going sense of humour. And yes, ants are horrible and they're much more scary than spiders! In summer, they take over my kitchen.

Author Interview and Spotlight for Harlot at the Homestead

Title: Harlot at the Homestead
Genre: Historical Western
Series: The Duggans of Montana, Book #1
Publisher: Totally Bound
Word Count: Short Novel – 33,707 words

Series Blurb:

The Duggans of Montana work hard and play harder.
Kenan Duggan looks out for his twin sister Rosie, and Matthew and Emmett, their two younger brothers. The Wild West is a tough place to live and each one strives to carve out their life on the land whilst battling the prejudices, contradictions and restrictions of an ever changing society.
They say that blood is thicker than water…but can these siblings find love and still hold on to family ties?

Harlot at the Homestead Blurb:

Sometimes retribution finds its own way but sometimes it needs a helping hand.
When Catherine Montgomery shows up at Kenan Duggan’s homestead, she expects him to be surprised. She’s been gone two years and she’s devastated to hear that her former fiancé was forced to give her up for dead.
Catherine never stopped thinking about Kenan and hoped that they’d be reunited one day. She has suffered at the hands of another but nothing tortured her as much as being apart from the man she loves. She doubts, however, that Kenan will be able to forgive her when she reveals her secrets.
As Kenan battles his desire for revenge, their mutual desire reawakens like a creek bed in the rain, and soon they are swept up in rediscovering their all-consuming passion.
Retribution often finds its own way in the Wild West and the men to blame for Catherine’s disappearance may well find themselves paying for their crimes in unexpected ways.
That’s if Kenan doesn’t get to them first!

Author Interview with Molly:

Thank you, Molly, for stopping by and answering my questions. It's been great fun reading your answers.

Share two things that inspired your book.

The title for this one came to me first. I could hear a man shouting “I’ll not have folks saying the Duggans keep a harlot at their homestead.” Then, as the plot began to work itself out, before I even began to write it down, I had an image of a young woman with scarred arms and a deep, dark secret.

What was your favourite scene to write?

I enjoyed writing the whole of this book but in particular, the drama of the opening scene was a lot of fun to create. I mean, if you loved someone with your whole heart but they disappeared – and this was in the times before the internet and mobile phones – what would you do if they suddenly turned up again two years later?

Where is your book set and did you need to conduct research for your setting? If so, how?

The book is set in Montana in the early 1870s. I did a lot of research before and during writing it. I used the internet and watched TV. Films, TV series and documentaries are packed with useful information.

Is this book part of a series? If so, describe the series and what part your book plays in it.

The book is the first in a series called The Duggans of Montana. The series is about the life and loves of a family living on a small Montana homestead.

Is there a part of yourself in the book? You are not obligated to share but you may.

I think that every book I write has a part of me in it. I believe that my novels are filled with my belief in passion, love and the endurance and determination of the human spirit. I hope that my writing reflects my warmth and integrity. But I also strive to think What if… and to challenge myself by writing about different times and situations.

What genre / genres do you write?

I write erotic romance. I have written and published three historical westerns and two contemporary books so far. I enjoy writing in both sub genres of erotic romance although I do have a fondness for historical romances.

Where would you like to be in your writing in two years’ time?

Well, I’ve had a busy year. My debut novella Desire in Deadwood came out with Totally Bound last August and since then I’ve published another four. I’ve just completed the second in The Duggans of Montana series called A Rancher for Rosie (it’s the story of Kenan Duggan’s twin sister) and I’ll be sending it to my editor this week. I have also written a mini-series of three historical westerns based around women in Deadwood which is currently in edits with Carina UK. So that’s nine books in a year, whilst working full time as a teacher and managing a house, family and two dogs! No wonder I get tired. But I love writing and I hope, one day, to be able to do it full time. So if I’m writing fulltime in two years, I’ll be living the dream. If not, I’ll still be working towards it.

Tell us three quirky or interesting things about yourself.

I have four pet bearded dragons who share our home with our dogs. They all get on really well. I want chickens now too. I’m working on my husband for that one.

I can be very stubborn and once my mind is made up…that’s it, no backing down. It has helped me to progress with my writing as it’s part of my drive and determination to succeed.

I make a mean lemon drizzle cake. It’s just…totally scrumptious.

What rituals do you use to help you focus or get the words down on the page e.g. music or a snack?

I write whenever and wherever because time is so precious, so I tend to just tell myself to stop procrastinating and get on with it. It works for me!

Mention something unique about your books and your writing style.

Every author likes to think that their writing is unique. I guess I’m quite a warm, funny and devoted person and I hope that this helps readers to enjoy my stories. But if I feel I’m being taken advantage of, or if I’m hurt, then I can become a tigress, so that might well emerge in my heroines. ;-)

How has your family responded to your writing?

With love and support. They are so understanding when I have deadlines to meet or need to just get on and write that it brings tears to my eyes. I love them so much.

If your heroine had to come alive, what activity would you enjoy doing with her?

I’d love to talk to her about her experiences and to offer her comfort. Catherine goes through a lot in Harlot at the Homestead but she’s still strong and forgiving. Maybe I’d make her a lemon drizzle cake. ;-)

If your hero had to come alive, what activity would you enjoy doing with him?

I’d like to tour the homestead in Montana and the surrounding land, to ride across the plains with him and see all of the places that feature in my books then to sit and drink coffee with him on his front porch and watch the sun set. Simple pleasures but they’re always the best.

What was your darkest hour as a writer?

My lowest point came just before Christmas in 2012 when a Regency I’d submitted as an R&R was rejected. It was over 60 thousand words long and I worked really hard to develop it then the reading group for the publisher rejected it. I felt like throwing in the metaphorical towel and I cried – a lot! A dear friend of mine did a thorough critique of it and told me what the issues were but also what she loved about it. It was a steep but extremely valuable learning curve and it increased my determination to get published.

What has been your greatest triumph so far as a writer?

Every acceptance is a triumph and you’re only as good as your last book, so it’s a continuous journey. Everything I learn as an author is a triumph because learning – whether from editors, fellow authors, readers or reviewers – improves your writing and I want to be good at the thing I love doing.

Kenan stopped at a point where the bank grew flatter and the grass gave way to silt and sand. The water was shallow and crystal clear over the stones and Catherine suddenly realised how hot and uncomfortable she felt. High summer in Montana was usually hot and uncomfortable but this year it seemed hotter than hell. Beads of perspiration trickled down between her bosoms and the backs of her knees were clammy beneath her stockings.
“Let’s go in. It looks wonderful!”
Kenan smiled at her. “You always loved to swim, Catherine.”
They removed their shoes and outer garments then stood awkwardly.
“What now?” he asked.
“Just like always!” She chuckled.
His fingers trembled as he unhooked the front of her corset. He let it drop to the ground on top of her dress, then moved closer to her and encircled her wrist with his hands.  Her stomach flipped at the passion she saw in his gaze. He wanted her and loved her still but she had not yet revealed all to him. When she did, she feared that he would cast her aside like a broken saddle or a worn out boot.
“Hey!” He tipped up her chin with a fingertip. “What is it?”
She shook her head. “Nothing, just memories.”
“Good ones I hope.” He sighed as he bent his head to kiss her.
At first the kiss was soft and she relaxed into the warmth of his mouth, the sweetness of his breath. But as he pushed his hot tongue between her lips, she moaned and slid her hands through his hair. She filled her palms and her fingers with it then pulled his head towards her.
As they kissed, he loosened the waistband of her bloomers and she felt them slide down to the floor. The warm afternoon air caressed the naked skin of her legs and fluttered the edge of her chemise. Kenan held her body against the length of his and she felt his erection rock hard against her belly.
She giggled.
“What is it?” he asked breathlessly.
“Perhaps we’d better cool off?”
He looked down at the large bulge at his groin. “Maybe.”
He shrugged out of his union suit sleeves then slid it down over his legs. Catherine swallowed hard as she stared at his body. The hard cock stood to attention, pointing outwards from the dark curls of his pubic hair and pulling her eyes towards the balls beneath. He was a perfect male and she yearned to become one with him, to take him deep inside her and ride him until they both reached the point of no return.
“Now you!” His voice was husky but his tone was firm.
She undid the button at the front of her chemise then lifted it over her head. It was sheer as gossamer and featherlight. When she met his eyes again, the intensity of his gaze startled her. He looked so fierce, like he was about to explode with need and desire. He took her hand and led her towards the water’s edge. The cool river lapped at her toes and her nipples hardened, making her full breasts tingle.
“It’s freezing!”
“You’ll get used to it!” He eyed her naked form. He waded into the water until it reached his thighs then turned to face her. Catherine watched as goosebumps rose on his arms and the neat sack of skin that held the essence of his masculinity pulled itself up towards his body.  But his erection still stood firm and ready, the tip shimmering with a diamond like bead of moisture.
In a flurry of excitement, she pulled the pins from her hair and let its vermillion waves cascade down her back. The breeze lifted it and swirled it around her face, teasing her by limiting her view of Kenan. She flicked her head to push it aside and fixed her eyes upon the man she loved. Unable to resist any longer, she ran to him, splashing the icy water over them both as she did so. The river’s chilly grip travelled quickly up her legs and the tiny hairs on her neck and her arms stood on end.
Kenan grabbed her and pulled her with him into the flow and Catherine gasped as the cold water enveloped her, touching her inside and out. The sensation of the chilly water delving between the hot sensitive folds of her most private place was delicious and it heightened her desire to feel her lover’s cock there too.
“It’s freezing, Kenan!” She giggled.
He laughed then flicked water into her face. She shook her head, her thick hair heavy with the river. He reached out and tenderly spread her hair out so that it floated around her like a gathering of eels come to inspect her nudity.
“Come here!” Kenan embraced her.
Their cold, wet skin and his solid length prodding into her stomach fired her yearning to have him. She wanted to possess this man once more, before he knew the full truth. The fear that he might abandon her when she confessed all darkened her mind for an instant, like a cloud passing over the sun. But she shrugged it away, refusing to allow it to spoil this precious moment. Kenan pushed her towards the bank where he laid her on her back in the shallows. He eyed every inch of her body. The stones and sand were hard and cold beneath her skin but the fire in his gaze warmed her like the hot summer sun.
He stroked his hands over her stomach, across the curves of her hips then back towards the apex of her thighs. She moaned as he parted her legs and ran the fingers of his right hand between her swollen lips then over her aching bud. He rubbed it between his thumb and forefinger with a touch so experienced and knowledgeable that Catherine felt all sense and reason slipping away. Lost in passion, she lifted her hips towards him, eager for him to fill her up as she knew only he could.
Whilst he massaged her, he used his free hand to drip chilly droplets of water over her burning cunny. She flung out her arms and grabbed his shoulders, digging her nails wantonly into his flesh and pulling him down onto her, unable to wait another second. His body moulded to hers as if it were the other half of her and she flung her head back as he drove his erection into her soft flesh.
As excitement consumed him, he rocked into her, harder and faster and she spread her legs farther to take him deeper. The water splashed around them as they moved in perfect union and the current flowed over them, caressing their skin and creeping into forbidden places as if to join in their lovemaking.  Catherine bit into Kenan’s shoulder when the tensing and twitching of her pussy signalled the onset of her climax and her sensitive bud throbbed then burst into countless little explosions like lightning bolts piercing the night sky.
The aftershocks flooded throughout her entire body and her hot juices flowed from her loins. Her excitement spurred Kenan on and he thrust harder and faster before freezing as he reached his own shuddering release.
He rested his weight on his elbows and looked into her eyes. “You are amazing,” he whispered as he gently pushed the wet hair from her forehead. “No one should ever hurt you. Ever.”

Her Real-life Hero - My Version of The Frog Prince

My erotic, contemporary romance with a paranormal twist will be coming out in July. If you take a peek to the right of my blog post, you will see the countdown to the launch of the Beyond Fairy Tales line from Decadent Publishing. I'm very excited about this line and still can't believe I obtained a contract for my story with it which should come out at the end of July.

Her Real-life Hero is the third erotic romance I've written. My first was a rather tame one which I self-published on Amazon a few years ago. The second is contracted with Decadent Publishing, due to come out some time in July. I think writing an erotic romance is much harder than a straight-forward contemporary romance. So, it's with nail-biting suspense and immense excitement that I'll be witnessing the release of my first two professionally edited erotic romances next month.

Beyond Fairy Tales books with Decadent Publishing are based on Grimm's or Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales. Upon request, we were assigned a Grimm's fairy tale and had to write our own twist on the tale - however we wanted. Usually, I struggle with coming up with book ideas but this one came to me fast. I was assigned The Frog Prince and Iron Henry. Think of kissing the frog and he becomes a prince. The fairy tale is about a young woman (a princess actually) who meets a frog who helps her retrieve her favourite object - a golden ball. In exchange, she promises to have him live in her home, eat her food and sleep in her bed! Of course, she doesn't actually expect the frog to expect her to live up to her promise. The consequences are dire. The Iron Henry part is a fascinating twist to the story and I enjoyed weaving that into the book. Love it.

Here's the blurb for Her Real-life Hero:

When Joanie buys an antique bureau to inspire her writing, the hero in her book comes to life after she promises him he can live with her. Outraged to be stuck with a man in her home when all she wants is to revel in her new-found freedom, Joanie tries her best to get rid of Theo. The magic of the bureau and Theo have other plans. Joanie resists Theo’s magnetic sex appeal but the more she resists, the more she succumbs.

Joanie was inspired by my sometimes deep-seated need for solitude. I have my family around me all throughout the day, and at times, have craved time to myself. Joanie has looked after her younger sisters and ailing aunt for years. She's looking forward to thinking only of herself and no one else. (Of course, don't we usually end up being happier when we have someone else to think of besides ourselves?) Plus her goal is to get a publishing contract and go on a much-needed holiday. When Theo comes into her life and the magic forces him to stay, a war rages in her heart between her need for space and her insatiable lust for Theo's hot bod. Joanie's suppressed her sexual desires for so long. She doesn't realise how good it can really be. Theo is about to show her a thing or two. With magic in the mix, you can imagine the sparks that fly!

Delicious Delay - Sale and Book Spotlight

Today I have Tara Quan, fellow Decadent Publishing author, talking about her book Delicious Delay. Here she is...

Delicious Delay by Tara Quan – 99c SALE!
Thank you for letting me share my multicultural contemporary romance, Delicious Delay. The book is currently on sale for a limited time. You can grab it for only 99c from Amazon, B&N, AllRomance, and Decadent.
After my own not-so-delicious delay in the Middle East, I set out to write something funny, sexy, and set entirely in an airport lounge. It’s a quick summer read meant to make your mouth water (from the food...) and your toes curl. I hope I’ve piqued your interest enough to give one of the links below a click. ~Tara Quan

Delicious Delay
Stranded in a Middle Eastern airport, Michelle Day finds herself the object of interest for an abrasive, but all-too-sexy stranger—a stranger who tempts her with the forbidden in a land where indecency could get her killed. But how does one say no to such a deliciously, relentless pursuit?
Khalid Al Dehri takes one look at the red-headed spitfire in the business class lounge and knew he’d either been transported to heaven—or hell. Her tart response to his surliness intrigues him beyond all propriety and the longer he spends in her company, the more he can’t deny his forbidden attraction. But will she explore the sensuality between them or will society’s rules keep them apart?

Excerpt 1 (Sexy)
He splayed his hand over the back of her head. She parted her lips to ask him where this would lead. But before she could make a sound, his mouth closed over hers.
She couldn’t remember the last time she’d been kissed. Even if she did, his mastery would have turned the memory to cinder. She faced a man, not a young boy experimenting with teeth and tongue. Instead of the comfortable joining of lips between two people more friends than lovers, he drowned her in a tangle of silk and steel.
His tongue delved. She closed her fingers over his broad shoulders before trailing them down his triceps. One of his hands cradled her nape as the other spanned her back. The contact melted her muscles. With his arms snaked around her body, she felt captive even though she sat on top.
She should be in charge. She should be taking the lead. Instead, his mouth set the rhythm and pace, guiding her through the sensual dance she only now realized she had barely known.
She reminded herself this was just a kiss—a single, sumptuous, seemingly endless kiss that threatened to turn her brain to mush.

Wow, you're a master with words, Tara! Love this excerpt!
